Hello! My name is Lily and I am a primary school student. Today, I want to share with you my favorite hobby - reading.

I have always loved reading ever since I was young. My parents would read bedtime stories to me every night before I went to sleep. As I grew older, I started reading books on my own. I love how books can transport me to different worlds and let me experience new adventures.

One of my favorite books is "Harry Potter". I am a huge fan of the magical world created by J.K. Rowling. I have read all the books in the series multiple times and I never get tired of them. I also enjoy reading mysteries and detective stories. Trying to solve the puzzles and uncover the truth keeps me hooked until the very end.

Reading not only brings me joy, but it also helps me improve my English skills. By reading different genres of books, I am exposed to various vocabulary and sentence structures. This helps me expand my knowledge and enhances my writing abilities. Moreover, reading also broadens my perspective and teaches me about different cultures and lifestyles.

In addition to books, I also enjoy reading comics and magazines. Comics are a fun and visual way of storytelling, and magazines provide me with interesting articles and information about my favorite subjects like animals and science.

Whenever I have free time, you can find me curled up in a cozy corner with a book in my hand. Reading has become an essential part of my life, and I can't imagine a day without it. It has sparked my imagination, enriched my vocabulary, and broadened my horizons.

In addition, I am excited to try Australian food. I have heard about their delicious meat pies, Vegemite spread, and lamingtons. I want to taste these unique dishes and maybe even learn how to make them myself.

To prepare for my dream vacation, I have been studying about Australia. I have read books, watched documentaries, and even learned some basic phrases in Australian English. I want to make the most out of my trip and immerse myself in the Australian culture.

I know that my dream vacation may not happen soon, but I am determined to work hard and save money to make it a reality one day. I believe that dreams can come true if we are passionate and dedicated.

  今天,我第一次走进振鑫华英语教室,一进教室我就发现了一件令人惊讶的事——英语老师竟然是一个外国人。

  这位老师的脸有点黑,但眼睛非常亮,像挂在黑暗天空上的两颗星星,头发卷卷的,像一个“小鸡冠”,个子不高,有点胖,穿着一件灰色衣服,看上去很憨厚的样子。我想,这位老师教我们学英语,行吗?

  开始上课了。外籍老师和我们打过招呼后,教我们的第一个单词是“跳舞”。外籍老师读到这个单词就立即活跃起来,做出一副跳舞的样子,一会摇头晃脑,一会东窜西跳,一会扭来扭去,跟我们一边握手,一边嘴里说着“dance”。我们也被他深深感染,同学们立刻上窜下跳,嘴里喊着“dance”。就这样,大家一下子记住了“跳舞”这个单词。接着外籍老师又教我们唱了一些反义词歌,他像小品演员似的,一边做各种搞笑夸张的动作,一边念着和动作一致的英语单词,让我们快乐的学习,轻松地记住单词。例如老师在教“帅气”和“丑陋”这两个英语单词的时候,他挺胸抬头,先用手摸一下他头上的“小鸡冠”,做出一个健美帅气的动作,神气地说:“smart”,我们一下子就明白了。接着,他龇牙咧嘴,做出丑陋的样子,说着“ugly”,我们看见他这样就哄堂大笑,并且跟他学,外国老师不但没有批评我们,还不断向我们竖起大拇指。他让我们尽情地自由活动,一边模仿,一边发挥,一边学单词,我惊奇地发现:原来英语还可以这样学习,太有趣了!

  就这样,我们在欢笑和快乐中度过了美好的一节课;就这样,我认识了一位有趣的外籍老师。

  在小学生活中,我上过数千计的课,这其中有一些课给我留下过难以磨灭的印象。我最难忘的还是一堂有趣的英语课。

  叮铃铃、叮铃铃,上课铃声响了,我们都坐端正,等待着章老师来给我们上课。章老师进教室后先和我们问好,我们也向老师问好后,英语课正式开始了。

  章老师告诉我们今天来学12个月的读音。一月和二月我们都读得很整齐,发音也很准。由于有些英语的'读音可以变成读音差不多的中文,当老师教到三月March时,有一位同学读成了“麻雀”,因为我的耳朵很敏感再加上我上课很认真听,所以把这个细小的地方也听出来了。过了一会儿,老师教到六月June了。又有一位同学读成了“救”,我在心里偷偷笑了几下,可老师并没有发现那位同学读错了。时间过得飞快,章老师教到九月September了,她叫吴颖站起来读,吴颖大声读到:“死不掉吧!”“哈哈哈哈”,同学们大笑到,老师又读了一遍,让吴颖听清楚,这次吴颖读对了。自从吴颖读错成中文后,有些同学也开始念错了,November读成了土话的“你还吧……”老师教我们读十二月Pecember的时候,想看看董有志有没有认真听,于是也叫他站起来读,他读到“爹生八”,我们先全体没有反应过来,过了一秒钟后,我们全班不约而同的笑起来了,就连老师也笑了起来,有的同学捂着肚子笑,有的指着他笑,还有的直拍桌子。可董有志却还愣在那里不知道怎么回事,后来听到有人翻译道:“爹生了八个孩子。”同学们再次哄堂大笑。

  这节英语课可真有趣!

  “或许不会取得多大的成绩,但我一定要去学会尝试,不然我就不会进步!”上周六,当我听到要去参加英语口语比赛的消息时,马上告诉了我的妈妈,她由衷地为我高兴。

  比赛之前的几天,老师和我们都很努力,直到比赛的前一天晚上,我的心里还是有点小紧张,生怕我一不小心就忘词了。

  等到了比赛的那天,由于爸爸妈妈要工作,所以我需要自己四点半听着闹铃就起床,然后慢慢地走到学校。那时的我,心里的紧张已经被兴奋代替了。

  车来了!坐在车上,我不由得开始想象:那究竟是怎么样的比赛?究竟是什么样的环境?是只有评委,还是在所有的观众面前进行比赛呢?想着想着,我真的开始紧张。

  终于到磐安了!随即,我们走进了一个学校,怀着紧张的心情逐级走上了楼梯。我们坐在各自的座位上,前方放着一台台电视机。心中不禁有些疑惑,于是我们问道:“丁老师,我们在表演的时候,是不是会从这里放出来呀?”

  “你们不要多想,到时候只要说好英语就好了。”老师亲切地说。

  到了抽签的时候,我竟然抽到了20号!我惊讶死了——我是第一批的最后一位选手。老师带我们去比赛教室。我们上去之后,就去后台等着。轮到我的时候,我心里格外的紧张,老师对我说:“不要紧张,如果真的紧张,就深呼吸几次,没事的。”

  我进去的时候,看到五个考官都笑盈盈地看着我,我一下就不紧张了,我开始说我的台词了。一分钟之后我回到了休息区等待15人都比完,老师带我们离开了比赛场地。

  这次比赛,让我觉得说英语是一件非常好玩的事情!
