We climbed up one of the watchtowers and took some memorable photos. Standing on top of the tower, I could imagine what it would have been like to be a soldier guarding the wall centuries ago.
As we continued our journey, we came across local vendors selling souvenirs and snacks. My parents bought me a miniature model of the Great Wall, which I will treasure as a memento of this trip. We also tried some traditional Chinese snacks like dumplings and steamed buns, which were delicious.
After a few hours of exploring, we decided to head back. The descent was much easier than the climb up, but my legs were still tired. I couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment knowing that I had conquered a small part of one of the wonders of the world.
