端午节的计划英语作文 篇一
My Plan for Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday that falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. This year, I have made an exciting plan to celebrate this special festival.
Firstly, I will wake up early in the morning to prepare for the day's activities. One of the most important traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival is eating zongzi, which are sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. I will help my mother make zongzi by washing and soaking the glutinous rice, preparing the fillings, and wrapping them in bamboo leaves. It will be a fun and delicious activity that allows me to learn more about our cultural heritage.
After enjoying a hearty breakfast with my family, we will head to the local river to watch the dragon boat races. Dragon boat racing is the highlight of the festival, where teams of rowers paddle in long, narrow boats decorated like dragons. The atmosphere will be lively and energetic, with cheers from the spectators and the rhythmic beating of drums. I am excited to witness the thrilling races and cheer for the teams.
In the afternoon, I plan to join a traditional arts and crafts workshop organized by the community. I will have the opportunity to learn how to make various handicrafts related to the Dragon Boat Festival, such as weaving colorful silk threads into beautiful bracelets and making paper cuttings of dragon boats. These activities will not only enhance my creativity but also deepen my understanding of the festival's cultural significance.
In the evening, my family and I will gather at home to make another special dish for the Dragon Boat Festival - realgar wine. Realgar wine is a traditional Chinese wine made by soaking realgar, a type of mineral, in rice wine. It is believed to have a detoxifying effect and to ward off evil spirits. We will follow the traditional recipe passed down through generations, ensuring the authenticity of the wine. While sipping on the realgar wine, we will also enjoy the beautiful sight of hanging up pouches of herbs and spices to repel evil spirits and bring good luck.
To conclude the day, I will write a heartfelt poem about the Dragon Boat Festival and the joyous moments I have experienced throughout the day. Writing poetry is a way for me to express my emotions and reflect on the significance of the festival. I will share my poem with my family and friends, spreading the festive spirit and keeping the traditions alive.
In conclusion, my plan for the Dragon Boat Festival is filled with cultural activities, delicious food, and quality time with my loved ones. I am looking forward to immersing myself in the festive atmosphere, learning more about our traditions, and creating lasting memories. The Dragon Boat Festival is not only a time to celebrate, but also a time to appreciate and cherish our rich cultural heritage.

Exploring Ancient Customs on Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. This year, I have decided to explore the ancient customs associated with this festival, in order to gain a deeper understanding of our cultural heritage.
One of the most intriguing customs of the Dragon Boat Festival is the use of colorful silk threads. It is believed that tying silk threads around the wrists can bring good luck and ward off evil spirits. I plan to visit a local heritage museum to learn more about the history and significance of silk threads in our culture. I am excited to see the displays of intricate silk embroidery and learn about the traditional techniques used by our ancestors.
Another fascinating custom that I want to explore is the hanging of mugwort and calamus. These two types of herbs are believed to have the power to repel evil spirits and bring good health. I will visit a traditional Chinese medicine shop to learn about the medicinal properties of these herbs and how they are used in herbal remedies. It will be interesting to see the various forms in which they are available, such as dried herbs, essential oils, or herbal teas.
In addition to exploring the customs, I am also keen on discovering the stories behind the Dragon Boat Festival. One popular legend is the story of Qu Yuan, a famous poet and statesman from ancient China. According to the legend, Qu Yuan drowned himself in the river due to despair over the corruption of the government. To prevent fish from eating his body, people threw zongzi, sticky rice dumplings, into the river. I will visit a local library to read more about Qu Yuan and his poems, as well as the historical context of his time. This will allow me to appreciate the deeper meaning behind the festival and the values it represents.
To further immerse myself in the ancient customs, I will try my hand at making traditional crafts associated with the Dragon Boat Festival. I will learn how to make paper cuttings of dragon boats and create my own intricate designs. This will not only allow me to develop my artistic skills but also provide me with a hands-on experience of the cultural heritage.
Lastly, I plan to document my exploration of the ancient customs of the Dragon Boat Festival through a blog. I will share the stories, traditions, and crafts I have discovered with a wider audience, both within and outside of China. By doing so, I hope to promote cultural understanding and appreciation, as well as inspire others to explore their own heritage.
In conclusion, my plan for the Dragon Boat Festival revolves around exploring the ancient customs, unraveling the stories, and creating a deeper connection with our cultural heritage. Through these activities, I hope to gain a greater appreciation for our traditions and pass on the knowledge to future generations. The Dragon Boat Festival is not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity to preserve and promote our rich cultural heritage.

what's your plan for dragon boat festival?
As a chinese, I was really ashamed of having a little knowledge of dragon boat festival. Perhaps I was born in northern city, though my city is nearby sea, it has been built a U port which I can only see cargo ships and can’t see the sweeping ocean. So I have never see the dragon boat contest since I was born. So the dragon boat festival is just a holiday for eating “Zong Zi”. My mother made Zong Zi when I was a child. Because there was no supermarket, we couldn’t buy finished product from market. However, now, we can buy anything in supermarket, so my mother didn’t make them anymore. The boat festival began to fade out my mind.
In reality, young people began to have a bug to celebrate foreign festivals, such as Christams, Saint Valentine’s day, April Fool’s Day, some people also celebrate Easter in church. Talk about Dragon boat festival, it’s the same as some foreign conventional festivals, such as Witch’s Day in Czech. People burned the witch’s puppet so as to welcome spring. Some people are willing to celebrate foreign festivals because they like alien culture. And vice versa, foreigners who like China also concern about Chinese traditional culture.
After new holiday regulation, we have three holidays during the dragon boat festival. So many people will choose this time to travel. People who lived in Xiamen are able to visit Xiapu or Wu Yi mountain, these tourist attractions are in Fujian province, which is suit a short tirp. but I’d like to stay at home for my decorate painting. I decide to draw two canvases about Christmas, it’s really a big project. Then I’ll hang them on the new house wall. I must start it now, or I can’t finish them before Christmas eve. But I preceive it’s a little difficult to draw them in such a hot season.
