一、小学生在活动中学习
小学生总是能从各种活动中找到乐趣和自信。因此我们经常开展一些有趣的课外英语实践活动,通过说、演、猜等活动激发学生对英语学习的热情。
二、让小学生有时间多想多问
以往教师给学生留的英语作业,都是机械地、重复地抄写几行就算完成任务了,学生对这个是最没兴趣的了,他们大都抱着完成任务的态度。老师可以设计让学生自己展开想象,比一比看谁能把作业做得更漂亮、更便于记忆,并把它画出来。这个作业贯穿于教学的全过程。每学一课,学生就会迫不及待地回家设计出自己心目中喜欢的形象,第二天拿来向同学炫耀,那种成功的体验给学生带来了极大地满足和无形地鼓励,学生就会更加努力地完成设计想象作业,学习的积极性可就提高了。
三、多层次的激发学生的学习兴趣
承认个体差异,因材施教,“让每个人的个性得到自由地发展”。因此,我们应改全班统一,忽视个性差异的作业为层次性作业。教师在设计英语课外作业时要从学生的实际情况出发,分上、中、下三个层次来设计,考虑个别差异。教师在布置作业时,让学生自己选择自己喜欢的层次作业,这样可以提高学生的积极性,要让学生自主选择,让每一位学生都感到“我能做,我会做,我想做”,从而体验成功的喜悦。

小学阶段所要学的英语,与日常生活密紧相关,例如日常所见的水果、学习用品、家庭成员、人的身体部位名称、家庭生活用品等等,都是生活中随处可见的。在学习这些单词时,我们可以让学生们看着这些物品,边看边学,给他们一种实体的印象,如b、pen、able等,我们就可以看着书、笔、桌子等让学生有一个感官上的认识。这样可以帮助记忆单词,在英语越来越受重视的今天,越来越多的英语出现在我们生活周围,只要稍加留意,就可以发现许多英文商标、中英文广告等,我让学生随时留意,布置他们自己去收集,摘抄。学生兴趣盎然,反馈回来的作业十分丰富。这样不但可以提高兴趣,增长知识,还能培养良好的习惯和自觉学习意识。
为了更好促进学生在英语语言方面的全面发展,在设计教与学的模式上所做的探索努力。我们相信,充满着童趣、充满挑战性的英语教学一定能帮助学生克服在语言学习上所遇到的种种困难,让他们找到乐趣,找到自信,不断进步。
