Summer vacation is just around the corner, and I am eagerly looking forward to it. As a high school freshman, this will be my first summer vacation in high school. I have already made plans for how I will spend my summer break.
Firstly, I plan to improve my English skills during the summer vacation. English has always been one of my favorite subjects, but I want to take it to the next level. I will spend at least an hour every day reading English novels and newspapers to enhance my reading comprehension skills. Additionally, I will practice writing essays and participate in online English forums to improve my writing skills. Moreover, I will watch English movies and TV shows to improve my listening skills. I believe that by the end of the summer, my English proficiency will have significantly improved.
Secondly, I plan to learn a new skill. I have always been interested in photography, so I have decided to take up photography as a hobby during the summer vacation. I will enroll in a photography class and learn about the different techniques and principles of photography. I am excited to explore the world through the lens of a camera and capture beautiful moments. I hope to develop my skills and even participate in photography competitions in the future.
Furthermore, I plan to spend quality time with my family and friends. During the school year, I often have limited time to spend with them due to my busy schedule. Therefore, I want to make the most of my summer vacation by organizing outings and gatherings with my loved ones. Whether it's going to the beach, having a picnic in the park, or simply having a movie night at home, I want to create lasting memories with the people who mean the most to me.
Lastly, I plan to give back to the community. I believe that it is important to contribute to society and help those in need. Therefore, I will volunteer at a local charity organization during my summer break. Whether it's assisting in organizing events or helping with their daily operations, I want to make a positive impact on the lives of others. By doing so, I hope to gain a greater sense of fulfillment and gratitude.
In conclusion, I have planned a productive and enjoyable summer vacation. By focusing on improving my English skills, learning a new hobby, spending time with loved ones, and giving back to the community, I believe that this summer will be a meaningful and memorable one. I am excited to embark on this journey and make the most of my time off from school.

高中英语新教材给你一种印象是图文并茂，内容新颖，它彻底改变了以往的老面孔。除了培养学生的创新精神，还特别注重学生的实践能力。
新教材的.体系设计是这样的。
（1）目标(goals) 该部分将单元目标具体化，其中包括话题，功能项目，重点语法项目以及具体任务。这部分有利于学生自主学习。
（2）热身(warming up) 这部分鼓励学生大胆想象和积极思考。为学生了解本单元做铺垫。
（3）听力(listening) 听力部分的材料形式多样。但相对本校学生的水平，难度较大。建议老师们在听力之前用提供背景，制作对话，另设选题的办法，让学生尽可能听懂材料。
（4）口语(speaking) 本部分相对于老教材来说，很少提供对话的example，而是提供话题的素材。这样的编排方式一方面是有利于学生思维的扩展，可发展学生的个性。但鉴于目前学生的实际能力水平。教师仍需要因势利导，设计example的形式，尽量降低难度，才能真正把学生的嘴巴打开。
（5）阅读(reading) 新教材的阅读
课形式丰富多样，极富时代性、趣味性，并且注重对学生语言运用能力的培养。但
是相伴而来的问题是词汇量。本人对于Reading的叫法仍处于初步探索的阶段，但是在教词汇时我尝试了一种方法，就是通过补充练习时。尽量有多次接触单词的次数，做到举一反三。
总之，新教材对教师提出了新的要求——帮助学生观察，发现探索，甚至动手。还应让学生养成合作学习的习惯。作为新教师本人，仅仅对教材有了总体上的认识，具体教学方法，仍需在实践中摸索。
