My First Day of School
Today was my first day of school. I was both excited and nervous. I woke up early in the morning and put on my new school uniform. I ate a quick breakfast and then my parents drove me to school.
When I arrived, I saw many other students waiting outside the school gate. Some were chatting with their friends, while others looked just as nervous as me. I joined a group of students who were in the same grade as me. We introduced ourselves and talked about our summer vacations.
After a few minutes, the school bell rang and we lined up to go inside the school building. We were greeted by our homeroom teacher, Ms. Li. She seemed nice and friendly. She took us to our classroom and assigned us our seats. I was seated next to a girl named Lily. She smiled at me and we quickly became friends.
Our first lesson was English. Ms. Li introduced herself and asked us to introduce ourselves as well. I stood up and said, "Hello, my name is Emily. I am twelve years old. I like playing soccer and reading books." The other students clapped and introduced themselves one by one.
Throughout the day, we had different subjects such as math, science, and Chinese. Each teacher introduced themselves and told us what we would be learning in their classes. It was a busy day, but I enjoyed every moment of it.
During lunch break, I sat with Lily and some other new friends. We shared our lunch and talked about our hobbies. I found out that Lily also likes reading books, so we decided to start a book club together.
At the end of the day, I felt tired but happy. I made new friends and learned many new things. I couldn't wait to go back to school the next day.

My Favorite Subject
Among all the subjects I have in school, English is my favorite. I find it interesting and enjoyable to learn.
One of the reasons why I like English is because of the teacher. Ms. Zhang, our English teacher, is energetic and passionate about teaching. She always makes the class fun and engaging. She uses different activities and games to help us learn new vocabulary and grammar. She also encourages us to speak in English during class, which helps improve our speaking skills.
Another reason why I enjoy learning English is because of the subject itself. English is a global language, and I believe that learning it will open up many opportunities for me in the future. I can communicate with people from different countries and cultures. I can read books and watch movies in English. It makes me feel more connected to the world.
I also like the fact that English is a practical subject. I can use it in my daily life, whether it's reading signs and labels, writing emails or chatting with friends from other countries. English is everywhere, and being able to understand and use it gives me a sense of accomplishment.
Furthermore, English helps me to improve my overall language skills. It enhances my listening and reading comprehension abilities. It also improves my writing skills as I have to practice writing essays and reports in English.
In conclusion, English is my favorite subject because of the passionate teacher, the practicality of the subject, and the opportunities it provides. I am grateful to have the chance to learn English and I will continue to work hard to improve my skills in this subject.
