Unit 1 Welcome back!
Teaching goals:
1. Students will be able to greet others and respond appropriately.

Key vocabulary:

Teaching procedures:
1. Warm-up: Greet the students at the door as they come in, saying "Welcome back!" Have the students respond with "Thank you!" Practice this a few times until they are comfortable with the greeting.
2. Introduce the new vocabulary by showing flashcards of the school supplies and having the students repeat after you. Practice the pronunciation and spelling of each word.
3. Have the students practice introducing themselves to a partner, using the phrases "My name is..." and "What's your name?" Encourage them to ask and respond to each other.
4. Play a game where you give simple classroom instructions and the students follow them, such as "Sit down", "Stand up", "Open your book", and "Close your book". Repeat the game until they are familiar with the instructions.
5. Divide the class into small groups and have them create dialogues using the new vocabulary and phrases. Encourage creativity and interaction between the students.
